In case you missed it, Diablo 3 is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Activision Blizzard confirmed the news after months of teasing in August. Now, however, Activision and Nintendo have announced the Diablo 3 Switch release date: November 2, 2018. Diablo 3 Eternal Collection on Switch contains the main game, Reaper of Souls, all current patches, all the DLC up to this point, and even some exclusive content.
The release date for the game was confirmed via Nintendo of America’s official Twitter account. The tweet can be seen below, and includes a rather demonic gif, to boot:

Diablo 3 Eternal Collection gathers together all of the Diablo 3 content as of writing but throws in a little Nintendo love for good measure. As explained on the official website for Diablo 3 Switch, there is some exclusive Legend of Zelda gear to nab. It “includes the Cucco companion pet, a Triforce portrait frame, and an exclusive transmogrification set that will let your heroes sport Ganondorf’s iconic armor. You’ll also receive unique cosmetic wings.”
The Switch edition of Diablo 3 can be played in local four-player co-op. You can either link up four undocked Switch consoles (with a copy of the game on each), play together on the TV, or mix it up with both. If local multiplayer isn’t your thing, the game supports full online co-op, too. This is a fully-featured Diablo 3 that can be played anywhere, and with anyone.
Diablo 3 originally released on PC in 2012 and has since been ported to the Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, and PS4. Diablo 3 Eternal Collection, however, represents the first time a Diablo game has appeared on a Nintendo console. This follows on from another dungeon crawler getting a November Switch release date. Moonlighter Switch is arriving during that month though, unlike Diablo 3, there hasn’t been a confirmed release date. Who knows, we might even see the two of them in action at today’s Nintendo Direct.
