Android 17 is Latest DLC Character Confirmed for Dragon Ball FighterZ

Android 17 has been confirmed as the latest DLC character for Dragon Ball FighterZ. The latest entrant to the popular anime-fighting game will not be based on the original incarnation of the character, however. Instead, he will take after his design from the recent Dragon Ball Super anime. The DLC will be available, at least in Japan, from September 27.

The newest issue of V-Jump, an offshoot of the popular Shonen Jump magazine, has confirmed the details for Android 17’s arrival to Dragon Ball FighterZ. This DLC will be priced at ¥500, which is roughly $5. The magazine has also provided details about the character’s special moves.

“Barrier Explosion” will put a barrier around the player for a dash attack; it can also be used mid-air. “End Game” will allow you to teleport behind the enemy and start a combo attack. “Super Electric Strike (Meteor Attack)” will make Android 17 charge energy in a whirlpool in both of his hands, which he then launches; this attack can also be done in mid-air.

This scan also reveals that there will be a new largescale update to the game. Alongside Android 17, the update will include a “Space Arena” stage and Halloween-themed items. With Android 17’s reveal for Dragon Ball FighterZ, it can safely be said that this will be the last of the DLC characters for the game; at least for now. Previous datamined files found in the game earlier this year listed upcoming downloadable characters. Out of this list, Android 17 has been the only one not yet to be announced, until now. This means that the game has no announced DLC characters in the pipeline.

Dragon Ball FighterZ was released on Xbox One, PS4, and PC January 26, 2018. The Nintendo Switch port of the title will be released September 28 of this year.
