Nintendo TVii Is Now Live, No Download Required

The Wii U has now become your TVii guide.

Nintendo TVii has been released today and is fully accessible through the Wii U's Home screen. No download is required, and only a few simple settings have to be set before use.

Outside of moderately slow menu navigation, TVii has been extremely impressive. Being able to go through an entire catalog of movies and shows through one interface is nothing to take lightly. The Wii U's GamePad is capable of acting as both a TV and cable box remote, so through the attractive TVii menu it's possible to find and access movie and TV shows with minimal effort.

To put that in perspective, I was able to find Dora the Explorer, view all upcoming episodes, and then instantly jump to Nickelodeon. In all, it took about four taps on the GamePad touchscreen to accomplish my mission. I can't even remember the last time I found something this practical on a console.
