Microsoft Illuminates Your Living Room With New Tech

Say hello to IllumiRoom, a new piece of tech currently in the works at Microsoft. As you can see in the video above, IllumiRoom illuminates the room (go figure) as you're playing a game, allowing the experience to expand beyond the confines of the television screen.

The tech is described as being a "project designed to push the boundary of living room immersive entertainment by blending our virtual and physical worlds with projected visualizations." It's also important to note that "the effects in the video are rendered in real time and are captured live — not special effects added in post processing."

Interesting stuff, no? What do you think of IllumiRoom? Will we see it supported in the next Xbox and/or Kinect? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
