Get A Closer Look At Destiny In New Character Development Trailer

During GDC, Bungie hosted a panel that dove into the studio's process of creating a "brave new world." Interestingly enough, the team originally wanted to make Destiny a fantasy game, but after realizing that they simply couldn't set aside their love for science fiction, they decided to make a hybrid genre of sorts, which they call "mythic sci-fi."

But the real draw of Bungie's GDC presentation was the character development trailer they debuted during the panel. It provides a look at a number of the different races, character classes, enemy types, and more. If you haven't already done so, be sure to give it a look above.

Destiny will allow you to choose between three different races: the standard Human, the exotic and mysterious Awoken, or the sinister and powerful Exo. They also considered bringing a Tiger Man option into the fold, but for obvious reasons, the beast simply didn't fit. The classes, which include Titan, Hunter, and Warlock, each have their own unique set of strengths and gameplay styles.

Needless to say, Destiny is going to be one ambitious experience. Do you think the team is on the right track? Could this be the next big first-person shooter franchise to rule the market? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
