PC Version Of Thief “Extremely Important,” Won’t Just Be A Console Port

While the upcoming Thief reboot will be appearing on more than just the PC, the guys over at Eidos Montreal won't simply be porting the game from consoles to the age-old computing platform.

In an interview with Strategy Informer, the studio's Stephane Roy emphasized the fact that PC gamers won't be getting the short end of the stick when Thief launches next year.

No doubt on our side the PC version is extremely important. Just playing Thief with a keyboard and mouse it’s different so we must make sure we support that well. For making the PC version we think like a PC gamer, for consoles it’s a different type of beast. It’s one of our goals to make sure that the PC version isn’t just a copy of the console version.

Does that put your mind at ease, PC gamers? Are you psyched for the upcoming atmospheric reboot? Let us know in the comments below.
