Halo 4 Update To Provide Weapon And Vehicle Balancing

If you've played Halo 4's multiplayer for any extended period of time, I'm sure you're aware of the lethal power of the DMR. This beast of a mid to long-range firearm is one deadly piece of equipment. Perhaps too deadly.

343 Industries has announced in the latest Halo Bulletin that a number of changes are coming to Halo 4's multiplayer in the form of weapon and vehicle balancing. Because the studio doesn't want to mess with the current feel of the DMR, the team has decided to give the rest of the weapons a boost to make things a bit more even.

Looking at the DMR we currently feel that the kill time should remain unchanged, as the weapon has become a clear favorite amongst the community due to its reliability and consistency. So tuning the Battle Rifle, LightRifle and Carbine against this weapon presented quite a challenge.

So, the developer is planning on improving the Battle Rifle's power to a four-shot kill. In addition, the LightRifle will have improved range that matches the DMR, and the Carbine will be a seven-shot kill weapon. The Assault Rifle, Suppressor, and Storm Rifle all will be getting damage boosts, as well as the Warthog and Mantis chain-guns.
