Diablo 3 1.0.8 Arrives, Brings Important Improvements

Diablo 3 has turned into a long-term project for Blizzard following overwhelming feedback after the game's launch. So far the company has handled some of the key issues, but problems with balance and unnecessary inconvenience remain. Today's major update puts a stamp on a couple of these ongoing problems.

The big patch that Diablo 3 fans have been waiting for has arrived: 1.0.8. It contains a multitude of changes that improve the quality of life, particularly for level 60 characters running Inferno. Below is a list of its most prominent features:

  • Players now receive a 10% bonus to Magic Find, Gold Find, and Experience per additional player in a multiplayer game, up to a maximum of 30% in a four-player game
  • Players can now identify all items in their inventory by speaking to Deckard Cain or by using the Book of Cain that can be found near the shared stash in all Acts
  • Players should now encounter more monsters in Acts I, II, and IV in Inferno difficulty when playing at Monster Power 1 or greater
  • In multiplayer games, the increase in monster hit points per additional player has been reduced to 50% (down from 70%)

In a nutshell, co-op is more emphasized, you won't have to identify an entire inventory of loot every few minutes, and doing runs outside of Heart of Sin might actually yield equal if not better results. Naturally, thousands of players have surged back into Diablo 3 putting some stress on the servers and the Auction House has crashed. Blizzard is currently working on bringing it back up. For now, everything outside of the Auction House is available for play.
