Battalion 1944 sales have crossed an impressive milestone in the days before E3 2019 — 250,000 copies of Bulkhead Interactive’s World War 2 first-person shooter have been sold on PC. The milestone was crossed in the midst of their launch week and the devs are pleased with the result, so much so that they’re offering a free in-game gift to players who manage to hop on the game within the next week.
If you haven’t yet played Battalion 1944, it’s a first-person shooter set in the midst of World War 2. Those are a dime a dozen these days, but the fine folks at Bulkhead Interactive have worked hard to put their own spin on things. Central to the game’s appeal is the five versus five format and the integration of the FACEIT competitive toolset into the game, priming it for Esports and ladder potential.
A news post on the game’s Steam Community page shows that the 250,000 Battalion 1944 sales have gone down well with the devs and the team wants to give something back — a free gift has been made available for players who play the game before June 10, 2019. Players who can make it into a match before the deadline will receive five Aces High War Chests as thanks from the developers. These bonus War Chests should be added to your account automatically — just make sure that you get in game before June 10!
Battalion 1944 sales may well continue the climb in the coming days as the launch week discount is still going strong for another few days. If you’ve had a hankering for a bit of first-person shooting in a World War 2 environment, you can pick up Batallion 1944 for yourself on Steam at a price of $15.99 or your regional equivalent, a 20% launch week discount off of its normal price.
