Nintendo Rights To WiiU.com Domain Denied

The domain WiiU.com does not belong to Nintendo, and while the company has been seeking to gain ownership, it doesn't look like Iwata and the gang will be getting it.

Nintendo filed a complaint at the World Intellectual Property Organization, but according to Fusible, the WIPO has denied The Big N's request, saying that WiiU.com will remain tied to its original owner.

Eurogamer reached out to Nintendo, and based on the company's response, they have not intention of giving up. "Nintendo's efforts to recover the domain name WiiU.com through a Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy administrative proceeding were unsuccessful," a company rep told the outlet. "Nintendo has a strong history of protecting against infringement of our intellectual property rights and we are continuing to review our legal options."

Interestingly enough, Nintendo isn't the only console manufacturer with this dilemma, as XboxOne.com does not belong to Microsoft, and PlayStation4.com doesn't belong to Sony.
