Wargaming CEO Calls Xbox Certification “Unacceptable” For F2P

Wargaming's highly successful free-to-play game World of Tanks coming to the Xbox 360 was one of the few announcements made for the aging console during Microsoft's E3 press conference. But apparently, bringing World of Tanks to the 360 hasn't been exactly what Wargaming expected.

Speaking with Polygon, Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi explained that free-to-play games require frequent updates, and that because of that, Microsoft's certification process for patches has been difficult for Wargaming to work with, even calling them "totally unacceptable" for free-to-play.

But one of the biggest challenges with Microsoft was the frequency of updates because the QA process and certification process takes an extremely long time. Totally unacceptable for a meaningful free-to-play. We are working with them to do quicker updates.

This isn't the first time Kislyi voiced his frustration over the Xbox 360 version of World of Tanks, before explaining how his game can't be truly free-to-play because of the Xbox LIVE Gold requirement, and how it's holding back his reach.
