Eidos Montreal Head Resigns Over Leadership Issues At Square Enix

Due to "irreconcilable" differences with the leadership at Square Enix, it appears Stephane D’Astous has decided to step away from his position as head of Eidos Montreal.

"Since last year’s financial short-coming performance of Square Enix Europe, we (HQ London and GM Eidos-Montreal) have had growing and divergent opinions on what needed to be done to correct the situation," he told Develop.

"The lack of leadership, lack of courage and the lack of communication were so evident, that I wasn’t able to conduct my job correctly. I realized that our differences were irreconcilable, and that the best decision was unfortunately to part ways."

It will be interesting to see how this ultimately affects the future projects of Eidos Montreal. Will the studio behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution ever be the same? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below.
