PlayStation Awards 2019 voting is now open, set to take place in Japan this December

The PlayStation Awards 2019 are set to take place on December 3 at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo, Japan. The ceremony aims to recognize the top-selling PlayStation games of 2019 in Japan and Asia. There are a variety of rewards that will be given out to PlayStation titles, ranging from major games to popular indie games.

In addition to awards given to a select batch of games, fans can also vote for their favorite PlayStation titles from the past 25 years. The top five games will be the recipient of the PlayStation 25th Anniversary Users’ Choice Award. The only caveat is that the only games on the ballot are previous PlayStation Award winners. If you’d like to cast your vote, voting is now live on the PlayStation Japan website and will remain open until midnight on October 23 JST. Upon voting, you can enter into a lottery for a chance to win one of three PlayStation 4 bundle.

During the ceremony in December, the Platinum Prize will be awarded to games that shipped or have been downloaded over a million copies, while the Gold Prize will be given to titles that shipped or been downloaded half a million copies. The PSVR and PlayStation Network awards will be given out to the top three best selling games of 2019 in their respective categories.

The final award that will be given out during the PlayStation Awards 2019 is the Indie and Developer award. This award will go to the top three indie games that have helped contribute to the expansion of PlayStation. With tons of good games released in 2019 for PlayStation 4 and PSVR, it should be interesting to see who takes home the various rewards.
