Sony Will Be Bringing Internet-Based TV To The PlayStation

Sony is currently planning with Viacom to bring its cable channels, including MTV, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon to name a few, to an internet-based TV service for PlayStation, Bravia, and other Sony devices. These plans include streaming the programming from Viacom's channels as well as providing on-demand content.

According to this initial report from the Wall Street Journal, Sony wants the service to be available later this year for Bravia HDTVs and a PlayStation console, although they did not say which one.

Since the Xbox One has already been held up as an all-in-one entertainment device, including live TV streaming, it only makes sense that Sony follows suit in some form or fashion.

I personally don't care about streaming TV through my game consoles, but I know many people would like this option. Is TV-streaming important to you for your next-gen console decision?
