Despite the fact that it doesn't need to be plugged in, Kinect will come packaged with every Xbox One.

Microsoft's Phil Harrison told CVG that the Xbox One's motion camera is an important component of the company's vision for the future of the platform; so much so that the console will never be available for sale without the Kinect.

"Xbox One is Kinect," Harrison explained. "They are not separate systems. An Xbox One has chips, it has memory, it has Blu-ray, it has Kinect, it has a controller. These are all part of the platform ecosystem."

Is Microsoft's decision to throw all of its eggs in the Kinect basket a wise decision? Do you see it paying off for the Xbox One manufacturer in the long run? Comment below and let us know what you think.
