Dying Light x Chivalry crossover is as bizarre as it is unexpected

It’s 2019 (almost 2020), and Dying Light, a four-year-old (almost five) game, has a new crossover with Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, a seven-year-old game. The Dying Light x Chivalry crossover is a strange surprise, but strange isn’t a bad thing.

Developer Techland and publisher Warner Bros. revealed a new trailer for the crossover event this afternoon. During the event, which starts today and ends on December 16 at 1 PM ET, Dying Light players can download the free Dying Light Chivalry weapon pack DLC, which allows them to forge the Chivalry-themed Zweihander sword and Medieval Shield.  Throwing the Zweihander makes the player character utter a goofy, Chivalry-like war cry.

It’s hard to tell exactly what the event consists of from Techland’s description, but it appears players will be able to earn points toward a community goal by battling a Chivalry-like knight in a random encounter, defeating undead enemies, and saving civilians from Dying Light antagonist Rais. If players accomplish enough of these tasks to to reach the goal, all participants will receive the exclusive Knight-errant outfit.
