New BioShock game in development from 2K’s Cloud Chamber

Surprise, surprise! A new BioShock game is in development. What’s more, this upcoming new BioShock game is being developed by a special internal studio within 2K known as Cloud Chamber — and they may already be well into development.

As IGN reports, the next game in the BioShock franchise is officially in development at Cloud Chamber, an internal studio under 2K’s umbrella. We have no idea about which platforms it’s coming to or when we’ll get it, but they do say that it will be in development for “several years.”

It’s not all bad news, though. Niko Partners Senior Analyst Daniel Ahmad has discovered something pretty interesting about Cloud Chamber.

“Kelly Gilmore, the head of the new 2K studio making the next BioShock, has been listed as a studio head at 2K since Jan 2018,” Ahmad said in a tweet. “In other words, the studio has already been operating for almost 2 years, despite being announced today.”

That’s about all we know for now. We can’t say for sure when we’ll get a new BioShock game, but it’s sure to be fantastic.
