Halo 4 GOTY Edition Reportedly Coming October [Update: Microsoft Confirms]

[Update] Microsoft has confirmed to IGN that a GOTY Edition of Halo 4 will be arriving this October.

A Game of the Year Edition of Halo 4 will be offered this October, offering tremendous value for fans who want to enjoy one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2012, and additional DLC all in one place. We will have more details to share during the live stream of the Halo Global Championship Finals this Sunday.

[Original] It looks like last year's sci-fi shooter from 343 Industries will be getting a Game of the Year Edition in just a couple of months.

An unnamed source provided IGN with the following image, outing the upcoming new and improved Halo 4 release.

As you can see, there's a whole bunch of content bundled in the package, including a War Games Map Pass, the Halo 4 Champions Bundle, and a whole bunch of exclusive content previously only available to those who pre-ordered the game or picked up the Limited Edition.

Does this GOTY Edition seem like a tempting proposition for $49.99? Let us know whether or not you plan on picking this up when it supposedly hits store shelves in October.
