Sony Not Concerned About EA Partnership With Microsoft

From free copies of FIFA 14 for earlier adopters in the UK to console-exclusivity of the FPS juggernaut that is Titanfall, Microsoft is definitely milking its relationship with Electronic Arts for all it's worth. That said, Sony isn't worried in the slightest.

SCEE head Jim Ryan recently spoke to MCV on the matter, expressing Sony's confidence in PlayStation 4's current position and how Microsoft's deals with EA are nothing the company needs to be concerned about.

When asked whether or not Sony plans to react to the aforementioned partnership, Ryan replied: "No, no. We have over 1m pre-orders, so why would we need to do that?"

He then went on to add: "We had to switch off day one pre-orders, we are now onto day two, so why would we pour gasoline onto the fire? Platform holders and publishers run pre-order campaigns, and if you need to increase momentum then they dial it up a little bit with some promotional stuff, it’s a rational thing to do. But do we need to do that? No."

Do you think Sony is in a position where they don't need to react to Microsoft's exclusive partnerships? Could the lack of Titanfall on PS4 end up being a major thorn in Sony's side? Give us your two cents on the matter in the comments below.
