Square Enix’s TGS Booth: Much A-booth About Nothing

Square Enix is ready for the Tokyo Game Show, setting up to deliver a whole four playable games at its booth. Lightning Re-returns: Final(?) Fantasy XIII, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. You might not think that's a big number, but it's actually four more playable games than SE's booth had last year. (Square Enix did have a couple of playable titles, but they were at Sony's booth and the mobile game areas, not its own booth.)

Speaking of the booth, here's a map of Square Enix's floor space for next week's show:

The company's own TGS web page makes mention of neither Final Fantasy XV nor Kingdom Hearts III, though both of those have been revealed via Japanese press release to be headed for the show. (See where it says スクウェア・エニックス on the left? That's Square Enix. Then see that list of games to the right? If the XV wasn't hint enough, yes, the part before it says ファイナルファンタジー, or Final Fantasy. Same deal with Kingdom Hearts III. Oh it also says their names in English. I already typed all that Japanese stuff though, so I'm not deleting it.) It's possible that the two biggest guns of Square's lineup could be at the Sony booth, or present at both the Sony and Microsoft booths, since they're coming to Xbox One and PS4. Should that be the case, I know where I can go to find the shorter line. Click that TGS link for a full list of titles they'll be showing in video form, by the way. It's all logos and English, so don't be afraid. Don't. Be. Afraid.
