The latest episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch dropped today on Disney Plus – and it’s a treat for fans of the franchise. Episode 14, titled ‘War-Mantle,’ reintroduces the fan-favorite Clone Commando Scorch. He appeared in The Clone Wars show and the Republic Commando game before. On top of that, it shows off our first look at early-concept Imperial Stormtroopers. We’ve got all the spoiler-filled details on today’s episode of the Bad Batch over here.

The Bad Batch Episode 14 recap: Clone Commando Scorch and new Stormtroopers

Clone Commando Scorch

The major point of excitement in today’s episode is the return of Clone Commando Scorch. Codenamed RC-1262, we’ve previously seen him in the Republic Commando game, and the Clone Wars season 3 episode ‘Witches of the Mist.’ In that episode, he formed part of Delta Squad, a group of Commandos retrieving the body of a dead Jedi. That’s the last we saw of him until today’s episode, where he’s working with the Empire.

In this episode of The Bad Batch, he’s situated on an Imperial outpost on Daro, where he’s training new recruits. Hunter, Wrecker, and co. are tasked with saving him by the rogue Captain Rex. We get to see Scorch battle alongside the Batch against the new-look Imperial troopers. He survives the end of the episode too, so we’ll definitely see him again.

Talking about Imperial troopers, this episode also gives us our first look at prototype Imperial Stormtroopers. We’ve known for a few episodes that the Empire want to phase out the Clone troopers, and in today’s episode, we see a group of soldiers who look very similar to the world-famous Stormtroopers. Their design is identical to Ralph McQuarrie’s original sketches from the 1970s. It’s a nice nod to fans familiar with the original trilogy’s designs.

In other news, we’ve finally got details on how to upgrade your PS5 SSD, but it’s not a cheap venture. If you’re an Xbox fan instead, then you’ll be glad to know that you can stream the Halo Infinite beta without any copyright repercussions.
