Xbox Free Play Days August 2022 Includes Destiny 2 Starting Today

For this upcoming weekend, the Xbox Free Play Days for August 2022 has switched things up by including Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and the story campaigns for Destiny 2. With Fortnite skins appearing in Destiny 2 to celebrate the game’s launch on the Epic Games Store and the announcement of Destiny 2: Lightfall arriving in February 2023, this is a great time to jump into Destiny 2 and storm through all of the story missions you may have missed. The Elder Scrolls Online, thankfully given how large Bethesda’s MMO is, continues its free play from last week.

All three games are available for download starting now until Sunday, August 28 at 11:59 pm PDT. They will be available this weekend for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, though non-Xbox Live Gold members will still be able to play the Destiny 2 story campaigns for free. This includes Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen DLC expansions for the game.

As always, you can purchase the games offered during Xbox Free Play days at a steep discount, in case you wish to continue playing them after what is essentially a limited-time trial. Here is a list of the sale prices for the games:

Bungie has locked many Destiny 2 expansions behind a paywall particularly for Season 18, leaving many fans to ask which ones are still free to play at this point. So this is a good opportunity to pour through the Destiny 2 story content while it’s available for free.

In other news, the Fortnite Late Game Arena Mode will return this month, and Denuvo is introducing anti-emulator protection on Nintendo Switch.
