DFC: Xbox One, PS4 Will Sell 100 Million Units, Sony to Maintain “Slight Edge”

Both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sales will reach the 100 million mark by 2020, according to research group DFC Intelligence.

Not only that, but DFC also expects revenue from games to increase, with a $77 billion projection for this year, a marked improvement compared to 2013's $68 billion figure. There's clearly a strong interest in dedicated gaming hardware, despite prior fears that the contrary was true due to the rising popularity of smartphones and tablets.

Thanks to the $399 price tag of PlayStation 4 and the platform's popularity it Europe, the research group expects Sony to maintain "a slight edge" over Microsoft and Xbox One. Do you agree with this assessment?
