PS4 vs. Xbox One: “We Are in This to Win,” Says Microsoft

Sony has a solid lead over Microsoft as far as next-gen console hardware sales go, but that doesn't mean the Big M is ready to roll over and settle for the silver medal.

Speaking to GameSpot at GDC, Microsoft's Phil Spencer made it clear that he's confident that Xbox One can beat out PlayStation 4 in this brutal console war. "We are in this to win and to compete, compete on all levels; functionality, games, value. All of those things are incredibly important to us," he said.

One of the biggest thorns in Xbox One's side is its price, which is currently $100 more than PlayStation 4—though, you can currently save $50 at Walmart. Spencer addressed the issue, saying that Microsoft isn't ignorant to the fact that price is a major factor.

"Clearly we see the price difference in market between our box and Sony's box," he explained. "We're not blind to that. We believe in the value proposition that we have there, but we also want to make sure we're a great value for our consumers."

Do you think Xbox One has a chance of overtaking PlayStation 4 before this console generation inevitably comes to an end? What will it take?
