Project CARS for PS4 Looks Fantastic, Has Project Morpheus Support

The upcoming Project CARS will have virtual reality support through Project Morpheus, as revealed on the official PlayStation blog by Andy Tudor, Creative Director for Slightly Mad Studios, a developer known for Need for Speed: Shift and Shift 2: Unleashed. Thus, the photorealistic Project CARS is right up their lane, so to speak.

Developed as early as October 2011, Project CARS will emphasize authentic racing "with a dynamic time of day and a weather system" and have worked with dedicated players from the WMD Portal site. They've also consulted real drivers like "Stig" Ben Collins, Nicolas Hamilton, and Oil Webb to analyze their race tracks.

And with Project Morpheus, it will be one of the first games to be compatible with the device and the developers that this will have players "feel what it's like sitting in the driving seat of a high-performance machine as you look around the cockpit, glance left and right as you overtake an opponent, and get an exhilarating sense of speed as you scream down the finishing straight."

The game will launch sometime in November, and already the screenshots look to live up to the hype. If Project CARS can maintain a constant 60fps frame-rate, it will be strong contender against or companion to the more simulation/arcade Driveclub. Check out the game's official site for more information.
