Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is in development, Tecmo Koei has announced via press release, for PlayStation 3, Vita, and for the first time in the developer's catalog, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The roster of 145 playable characters will highlight several cross-over characters like Sophitia from Soulcalibur, Rachel from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Xu Shu from Dynasty Warriors, as well as the introduction of Abe Seimei and Shennong plus seven other new characters. It will also include cross-over stages from Dynasty Warriors, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Samurai Warriors, and Atelier. Slicing and dicing through demons as Ryu Hayabusa felt fantastic in the last Warriors Orochi installment.
Slated to release for Fall 2014, Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate will have several new features, such as "battlefields with up to 100 enemies on screen" and the Triple Rush system where players can swap between three individual characters or activate all three characters at once for a last-ditch Musou special. After the Demon Snake perished in the previous title, "a mysterious stone" beckons the motley crew back together again.
Last but not least, the game will have cross-play and cross-ave functionality between the PS3, PS4, and Vita. Hopefully, it will come paired with a Cross-Buy to make this feature more usable. The PS3 ($49.99) and Vita ($39.99) versions will be available through the PlayStation Store while the next-gen versions will be $59.99.
