[Update] Ubisoft has just confirmed that Assassin's Creed Rogue is in fact real and will be hitting Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this November. Check out the official announcement trailer below.
The game is being developed by Ubisoft Sofia and takes place during the middle of the 18th century during the Seven Years War. Players will get to explore all across North America and experience the Assassin's Creed universe through the eyes of a Templar.
"We know that there are many Assassin's Creed fans with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles who want to get their hands on a new Assassin's Creed game this year," Ubisoft Sofia game director Martin Capel said. "Assassin's Creed Rogue completes the North American saga started with Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and gives previous-generation console owners an exclusive opportunity to experience fan-requested features, such as playing as a Templar."
[Original] Assassin's Creed Rogue is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11th, according to a leaked trailer that surfaced early this morning.
Earlier in the year, rumors of a last-gen Assassin's Creed surfaced. Codenamed Comet, this second AC game for 2014 was believed to feature plenty of sea-filled adventuring akin to all of the naval stuff in Black Flag. By all accounts, that game is now Assassin's Creed Rogue, and judging by the footage in the leaked video, our hero will be braving some harsh arctic weather.
