Konami Shuts Down Hayter-Voiced Metal Gear Fan Remake

Remember Metal Gear? No, I'm not talking about the PlayStation classic Metal Gear Solid but the truly old school MSX game. Yeah, that one. Well, apparently a fan remake was in the works, voiced by the one and only David Hayter, but has since been shut down by Konami.

Check out the "rough trailer" for the would-be game below.

According to Metal Gear Informer, the game's producer provided the following explanation for the game's cancelation:

Unfortunately we can no longer go ahead with the project, it seems like the guys over at Konami couldn’t agree on a decision so had no choice but to shut us down. Even though it’s unfortunate, we’re thankful for all the help and support we’ve received from Konami, MGInformer, Kotaku etc. Especially the fans.

Anyone else totally bummed by this news? I'm sure I'm not the only one.
