The Oculus Rift VR headset that is being manufactured specifically for consumers will be priced anywhere between $200 and $400, according to company co-founder Nate Mitchell.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Mitchell said, "We want to stay in that $200-$400 price range. That could slide in either direction depending on scale, pre-orders, the components we end up using, business negotiations…"
Oculus co-founder Palmer Luckey chimed in, saying, "Whatever it is, it's going to be as cheap as possible," with Mitchell following up by adding, "That's really the goal."
How much are you willing to shell out for a VR headset? Do you think Oculus will be able to reach that sweet spot?
