Pikmin 4‘s release date has potentially been leaked by a Greek retailer, which posted a May 2023 listing that suggests the sequel is coming sooner rather than later. Up until now, the exact release date for the game has remained unclear, and Nintendo has merely said that the game will release in 2023. However, retailer Game Explorer has specified a launch date on the game’s store page, leading to speculation from fans of the real-time strategy series.
Pikmin 4’s release date listed by Game Explorer
Game Explorer’s release date was spotted earlier today (via GoNintendo). It specifies a May 26 release date, but as no other retailer has confirmed this, it may be a mistake on the retailer’s part.
This date falls just two weeks after The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s release date. Release dates for Nintendo exclusives tend to be more spaced out, which may suggest that the leak is inaccurate. However, May 26 falls on a Friday, a common release date for Nintendo exclusives (May 12, Tears of the Kingdom’s release date, also falls on a Friday).
Regardless of Pikmin 4’s actual release date, we can still expect it to arrive sometime this year. Nintendo Direct is right around the corner, so we might get an exact date during the biggest Nintendo event of the year. We haven’t heard any news on the game since its preview at last year’s Nintendo Direct, which showed off a few details about it.
