GTA 6 fans think Best Buy just dropped major update
GTA 6 has long been one of the most anticipated video games ever, with fans waiting for over a decade for the game’s release. Now, it seems that a preorder date may have surfaced early because of an apparent leak tied to Best Buy affiliate emails. This also seems to be the biggest clue about the window in months (via Complex).
As reported by Vice, multiple Best Buy affiliates reportedly received promotional emails about a campaign scheduled to run from May 18 through May 21, 2026, for GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game). The emails also hint at a 5% online sale figure, though it is still not clear what this indicates. The leak came to prominence after creators and deal-tracking accounts began sharing screenshots from the email. Reports state that they are verified Best Buy affiliate communications.
However, as things stand, Rockstar Games or parent company Take-Two Interactive have not announced any official preorder date. The company maintains that the game will be launched on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. If May 18 does turn out to be the pre-order date, it may also be the day that Rockstar Games drops more details about the video game, along with additional gameplay footage.
Grand Theft Auto VI is set to be the eighth main Grand Theft Auto game. It’s a sequel to the acclaimed Grand Theft Auto V (2013). The new game reportedly comes with a horde of new features, a bigger map, and perhaps the biggest and most interactive open world in video games so far. It remains the most anticipated title in the history of video games.
