Star Wars Jedi Survivor PC Performance

Star Wars Jedi Survivor PC Performance Blasted in Steam User Reviews

Players on Steam are not pleased with the overall Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PC performance, with the game receiving so much criticism that the average user review score is ‘mostly negative’. At the time of this writing, only 35% of Steam user reviews recommend the game. The bulk of the reviews say that the game performs poorly, with some unable to get past the loading screen and the framerate being low despite them having fairly good specs for their PC.

PC fans frustrated with 30 FPS for Jedi Survivor

Pouring through the “not recommended” user reviews for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor reveals, most report a low framerate. One Steam user named STENLY says that the game only runs at 30 FPS despite his rig having an RTX 4080, an i9-1300KF, 32 GB 6000 DDR 5, and all the latest drivers on Windows 11. Another says that lowering the graphic settings and using FSR (that’s AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution) don’t help matters, either.

Apparently, the game requires a lot of VRAM to run properly, anywhere from 19 GB to 24 GB of it, though the official recommended system requirements only say that it needs 8GB of VRAM. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any official system requirements for ultra settings, which many fans would like to have at least as a benchmark for getting a consistent 60 fps.

Some of the positive user reviews, though, say that most of the performance issues only occur on the first planet of the game. One user reports not having any problems running the game at 1440p with ray tracing at 60 fps with a RTX 3070 Ti.

However, the majority of PC players are disappointed with the game’s performance and are frustrated that they seemingly need the latest hardware in order to run the game (and other AAA games) at 60 FPS.

It would seem that if you want to experience Jedi Survivor at a high resolution or a high framerate, it’s better to play it on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. The option to turn on performance mode or quality mode will make things easier than figuring out what you need to make the game run properly on PC.
