Along with other games that are being adapted for television, the Resident Evil movies will be turned into a TV series spin-off, reports Variety, by German production house Constantin Film. Chariman Martin Moszkowicz confirmed this at Mipcom TV market in Cannes Sunday.
With Constantin Film pushing for international TV dramas, they will be transforming the book series "The Mortal Instruments" along with the "Resident Evil" franchise into TV-ready adaptations. The Resident Evil project is slated for production after Constantin Film finishes its next features film.
An episodic "monster of the week" format could do well for a Resident Evil franchise, particularly if they cast an actor to be Chris and Claire Redfield, Leon Kennedy, or another S.T.A.R.S. officer who must discover and dismantle the Umbrella Corporation.
