The month has just started and Xbox has given Game Pass subscribers a preview of what’s to come over the next few weeks. These Xbox Game Pass August 2023 titles are just the first wave, though.
Here are the Xbox Game Pass August 2023 Wave 1 games
The Xbox Wire broke down each title coming to the service. It’s a relatively light month, but it does have a few acclaimed indie hits. Celeste is one of them, but it was already announced. However, Limbo and A Short Hike are two that were included in this new roundup. Limbo was acclaimed in 2010 and inspired many other dark, cinematic 2D platformers. A Short Hike came out in 2021 and is a condensed and relaxed adventure game that takes cues from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with its exploration.
Here is the full list:
- Celeste (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 1
- A Short Hike (Cloud, Console, PC) – August 3
- Broforce Forever (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 8
- Limbo (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 9
- Airborne Kingdom (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 10
- Everspace 2 (Cloud and Xbox Series X|S) – August 15
There are other small perks, too. FIFA 23 is now playable through the cloud for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, and Microsoft Flight Simulator just got an update revolving around Central Eastern European countries like Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Those with Ultimate can also redeem certain small DLC packs for PUBG Battlegrounds, Neverwinter, and Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis.
And with every new batch of games, another handful are leaving. These following games are exiting Game Pass on August 15:
- Death Stranding (PC)
- Edge of Eternity (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Midnight Fight Express (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Total War: Warhammer III (PC)
