Starfield 1.7.33 Update Now Out, Larger Patch Coming Soon

Upon release, Starfield was received with a great amount of praise. However, like any game, it’s still susceptible to some issues, which is why Bethesda has recently released an update that looks at game performance.

A much bigger update is on the way

Over on the Steam page for Starfield, you can see everything that’s been improved or changed in version 1.7.33. This patch puts focus on “fixes and improvements,” with the developer saying that it’s “continuing to work on a larger update that will add features” as well as more improvements.

For now, you can see that there have been some corrections to the graphics, such as an issue on PC that “caused star lens flares not to appear correctly” on AMD hardware.

We’ve also got some general performance improvements, with this new update fixing an issue with the hand scanner, as well as addressing some general crashes and freezes.

There have also been a few tweaks to the game’s ships. For example: patch 1.7.33 has “fixed an issue that would cause displayed items to disappear when applied to in-ship mannequins.”

We’re not sure when this next promised update will be rolling out, but hopefully, it won’t be far off. Todd Howard and his team have a vested interest in keeping the company’s newest IP in the best shape it can. Prior to release, Microsoft said Starfield would have the fewest bugs of any Bethesda title, which is something of an odd boast.

The Elder Scrolls and Fallout developer is notorious for launching games with glitches and issues a-plenty. Some notable examples still retain their bugs years later, such as Skyrim. Presumably, Starfield will keep getting patched, even though it’s one of the stablest Bethesda games we’ve had in a long time.
