Battlefield Hardline Gets Firm Release Date, Next Proper Entry Coming 2016

Electronic Arts has confirmed that Battlefield Hardline, Visceral Games' upcoming "cops vs. criminals" shooter, will be launching on March 17, 2015.

Additionally, the publisher revealed during today's earnings call that the next major entry in DICE's popular first-person shooter series will launch during the holiday season of 2016. This is almost certainly being done to clear out the holiday 2015 season for Star Wars Battlefront.

I'm assuming the title will be called Battlefield 5, but who knows? Maybe EA and DICE will surprise us with a new naming scheme. Regardless, the company has plenty of time to decide, as the game's launch is still two years away.
