While the hype surrounding Palworld has died down now, it still maintains a degree of popularity, and the developer is preparing some exciting new things. As well as a new pal, Pocketpair, is also getting ready to launch the game’s first raid.
A “powerful evil” approaches
In a recent post on X – accompanied by a teaser video – fans get a glimpse at the new creature that’s coming to Palworld. Called Bellanoir, the pal emerges through red smoke, donned in a voluminous skirt as other animals stand close-by, presumably in fear.
On top of this, the post also says the game’s first raid is also coming in an inbound update. When we’ll get to see this and Bellanoir is not specifically mentioned. All we know is they’re “coming soon.”
Released in January, Palworld immediately took off, becoming one of the biggest releases in recent memory. In fact, it became one of the top-selling games of all time on Steam. It’s currently sitting at number 16 – above even the likes of Elden Ring and Grand Theft Auto 5 – according to SteamDB.
Its popularity quickly skyrocketed, with over 2.1 million concurrent players logged in on PC just a couple of months ago, setting a new record. The fact that it’s registered over 110,000 players in the last 24 hours shows that it’s now on the downswing, which is normal for any hyped game.
However, with Palworld currently 10% off in Steam’s Spring Sale until March 21 – not to mention the raid and new pal coming – we’ll probably see a bit of an uptick in players. At least for a little while.
