CCP Games Shuts Down Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines Fan Remake

Project Vaulderie, a fan remake of Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, has received a cease and desist email letter from CCP Games, according to a recent blog post for the project entitled "Goodnight, Sweet Prince."

The letter has asked the development to "cease game development, remove and materials that might contain Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, names, locations or related elements from the sites [they] control." This has lead the team to halt any further production on the fan re-imagining of the original game.

Apparently, "former developers on Bloodlines and former White Wolf employees" have expressed their sympathies and condolences to the team. They are looking for "a resolute course to continue working on a future game, but we cannot at this time discuss this publicly."

Some commenters have suggested that the Vaulderie Team get a IP lawyer or to rebrand the game with different textures and to rename the assets to something original. Either way, the community of the game are of course frustrated with this outcome.
