Less than two months after its release, the Google Pixel 10 Pro appears to have encountered a peculiar technical issue. Users of Google’s latest smartphone have reportedly submitted complaints about applications malfunctioning suddenly before crashing completely while they use the device.
Pixel 10 Pro users encounter app crashing issue
Over the past few days, multiple Pixel 10 Pro owners have reported applications crashing without any apparent reason. Users on Reddit stated that, following the October update, apps randomly started crashing, while others failed to load past the splash screen. Even rebooting the device several times has not resolved the problem, causing many to wonder if a fix exists.
Artem Russakovskii, the owner of APKMirror, has deduced that the issue could stem from a malfunction in Google Play Services. The tech blogger recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his experience with the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. He posted screenshots that could indicate the cause of the app-crashing problem.
Some dedicated Pixel owners have discovered a temporary solution. One Reddit user highlighted that applications can stop crashing abruptly on Google Pixel 10 Pro devices by installing the Android OS October update. After that, users need to uninstall all Google Play Services and Google Play Store updates.
While this method stops apps from freezing randomly, the issue reappears after the latest Play Services update installs itself again. Additionally, erasing Play Services data and updates logs users out of their Google accounts, making it a temporary fix at best.
Russakovskii noted that he has already informed his Google contacts of the problem, who reportedly view the issue as high-priority. Despite his update, Google has yet to share an official briefing regarding the app-crashing issue.
