Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption will soon be on Netflix. Additionally, it will also arrive on iOS, Android, PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2, starting December 2, 2025. This 2010 release from Rockstar will be available to play for free with a Netflix subscription.
Red Dead Redemption coming to Netflix
Rockstar just announced that their 2010 action-adventure title Red Dead Redemption will be available via Netflix Games. Included with their Netflix subscription, users will be able to play Red Dead Redemption on their iOS or Android devices starting December 2. Rockstar revealed that the game will come with free upgrades, the ability to carry over game progress, and a number of enhancements. In addition to Netflix Games, the title will also come out for current generation consoles.
Along with the main game, an expansion of RDR, titled Undead Nightmare, will also be available to play via Netflix. This game follows the protagonist John Marston from an alternate timeline, who sets out to find a cure for a zombie plague that infected his wife and son. Both games will also reportedly have mobile-friendly control options, while also being compatible with controllers.
On consoles, Red Dead Redemption will have enhanced graphics as compared to the past versions. These include 60 FPS framerate, better image quality, HDR support, and resolutions up to 4K, on PS5 and Xbox. Whereas the Nintendo Switch 2 will see support for DLSS, HDR, mouse controls, and high resolution 60 FPS gameplay. Further, players who currently own the game on PS4, Nintendo Switch and the backward compatible version of Xbox, will get a free digital upgrade on their newer console. However, only PS4 and Switch users will be able to carry forward save data and continue where they left off.
Rockstar created these new console versions in collaboration with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games. In addition to being available for mobile devices and tablets via Netflix, the new version of these games will also be available in the GTA+ Games Library and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog.
