Samsung’s Z Trifold Breaks During Bend Test

In a test that got tech enthusiasts on the edge of their seats, Samsung‘s latest innovation, the Galaxy Z Trifold, faced its most grueling challenge yet, and the results are nothing short of astonishing. For those curious if the cutting-edge device could withstand the ultimate bend test, here’s all you need to know.

Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold’s bend ability put to test in new video

The bend test results for Samsung’s latest foldable phone are in, and things are not looking good for the new release. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Trifold, a bold leap in foldable tech with its triple-fold design and 10-inch internal display, has failed to maintain its durability in a brutal bend test.

In a YouTube video posted by JerryRigEverything, the device, touted as Samsung’s wildest hardware yet, failed the bend test catastrophically. This makes the new release the first Samsung phone to fail spectacularly in the durability tester’s signature torture test. According to JerryRigEverything, the smartphone’s fragility was evident from the get-go. The device felt like it was on the verge of breaking, with warnings popping up even before it booted up fully.

The Galaxy Z Trifold snapped almost immediately when the tester applied pressure in the opposite direction. While the hinges held up, the ultra-thin aluminium frame buckled, and the frame cracked along antenna lines as the phone’s 3.9 mm thickness was unable to cope with the stress. And just like that, the device was permanently destroyed on camera.

Moreover, although the Galaxy Z Trifold’s IP48 rating, meaning limited dust and short-term water resistance, didn’t exactly inspire confidence, things only got worse from there. The phone also failed the dust test as particles invaded the hinges, causing audible grinding and debris buildup. The result is a stark contrast to the innovation on display, which has fans wondering if this cutting-edge tech is too ahead of its time.

While a first for Samsung, this isn’t the first time a foldable phone has failed to get through JerryRigEverything’s durability test. The Pixel 10 Fold met a similar fate when it exploded during the YouTuber’s durability test back in October.
