The Witcher 3 Gets New Playable Character

Developer CD Projekt RED has confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will feature a second playable character. She's got white hair and appears to be a total badass.

Her name is Ciri, "a descendant in a long-lost Elven-blood lineage" who "plays an important role in the Witcher lore." The developer describes her as being a "powerful, living weapon capable of both healing and destroying the world she inhabits."

With that said, it's important to note that Geralt will still be the game's primary lead.  "Adding Ciri as a playable character unlocks quite a few narrative possibilities for the team," CD Project RED explained. "Though while Ciri is a major character, she is not a playable character in the same way as Geralt – the game is still about him, his story and how you, as the player, choose to face the choices and encounters in front of you."

What do you think of The Witcher 3's inclusion of a second playable character?
