Buy, Try, Die: January 2015

The entire game industry is in hibernation mode after the holiday season, and the first few weeks of this month don't have too many large releases apart from some ports here and there on the Wii U's eShop, Steam, and PSN.

It's not until the end of the month that the hits will start coming in the shape of the anticipated remakes for the original Resident Evil and Grim Fandango, a classic that is difficult to find nowadays. Dontnod's episodic Life Is Strange will start the train of hopefully solid indie titles this year, and of course we can't forget Techland's zombie-parkour title, Dying Light. From what we played of the game in preview form, it improves on the wonky controls of Dead Island and it has a dynamic day-to-night cycle, so it just may be the open-world zombie killer we've been waiting for.
