Diablo 3’s Necromancer Is Now Playable In Beta, Here Are Item And Skill Details

Just hours ago Blizzard surprised thousands of gamers with an invitation to a Diablo 3 Necromancer Beta. The beta has been highly anticipated by fans due to its inclusion of a new historically significant class, the Necromancer. The class was detailed last month with positive reception, and now it's playable by a portion of the community.

Although the Necromancer is the highlight of the show, there is a large library of other content included that is relevant to all classes. New legendary weapons and armors are just some of the things you'll find in the update.

We can talk all day about broad details, but you likely want specifics. For that, we have a group of screenshots and videos that not only demonstrate the visual presentation of the update, but mathematics regarding its new items and skills.

A user on Reddit by the name of Oagoz has compiled screenshots and videos of just about everything you can ask for regarding the beta and what will eventually be a significant game update. See below.

Early reports suggest that those invited are active Diablo 3 players, in addition to press. The population appears to be quite small at the moment, although future waves are possible.

Note that progress made during this beta will not carry over to the live servers. In addition, the update will eventually become available to all platforms, including PS4 and Xbox One.

I will be playing as the Necromancer all night, and will report back with my thoughts tomorrow at a later date. Stay tuned!

[Editor's Note: A known issue has made the beta unplayable for us. Due to this, the hands-on feature has been delayed.]
