E3 Press Conference Wish List – Ubisoft

We're just a few weeks away from the spectacle that is the Electronic Entertainment Expo, and before the show floor opens, some of gaming's biggest players are holding press conferences that will undoubtedly be filled with surprises, awkward speakers, and plenty of dubstep. Ubisoft is set to share the future of its gaming plans on June 10th at 3PM PT, and there's plenty of reason to be excited.

We already have a good sense of what will be there, as Assassin's Creed IV: Black FlagWatch DogsRayman Legends, and a few others are absolute no-brainers, but what about the handful of unannounced titles the company (hopefully) has up its sleeve? Here are five game announcements that we're hoping will be made during Ubi's presser.

5. ZombiU 2

Sure, Ubisoft's zombie-filled action game for the Wii U wasn't perfect, but it did make use of the GamePad in some interesting and unique ways. As such, we here at GameRevolution would love to see what Ubi could do with a sequel after having learned a few lessons following the release of the first title. There's a whole lot of potential for the IP and zombies are all the rage right now, so a sequel to ZombiU sounds like a logical move if you ask me. Let's just hope the Wii U install base actually starts growing.

4. Assassin's Creed (Vita)

But the Wii U isn't the only piece of hardware in need of some software-filled lovin', as the PlayStation Vita's lineup of upcoming games is tragically bare as well. Fortunately, there's a good chance that Ubisoft is working on yet another Assassin's Creed title for the handheld, and if it feature's Black Flag's killer pirate setting, you can sign me up right now. The AC franchise is a huge moneymaker for Ubi and the PlayStation Vita needs more compelling software, so one would think it would be a match made in heaven, right? Let's just hope Ubi pushes the boundaries a bit further than it did with Liberation.

3. Rainbow 6: Patriots

We saw this game a while ago, but since then, Rainbow 6: Patriots has virtually vanished off the face of the earth. Has it been canceled? I sure hope not and I'm sure you feel the same way, as the teaser footage Ubi showed off back in 2011 was undeniably awesome. At this point (if it still exists) the game has got to be a next-gen title. Now I know what you're thinking: Don't we have enough military shooters out there already? Believe me, I'm well aware of this fact, perhaps even more so than you, but there's just something about the Tom Clancy games that differentiates them from the rest of the pack. Plus, the more emotional, story-driven angle the dev team appears to be going for looks way too awesome to ignore.

2. Prince of Persia

It's been a little while since we've seen a new Prince of Persia game, and ever since Sands of Time rocked the industry during the old Xbox One and PS2 days, Ubisoft has been trying to recapture that magic. After struggling to do so (don't get me wrong, the more recent PoP games are by no means bad), the publisher has gone quiet on the series, which can only mean one thing… a reboot is in the works. We heard rumors to that effect, and even images from a Climax-created prototype have surfaced. There's no doubt that Ubisoft has plans to bring back the franchise eventually, we just hope it is sooner rather than later.

1. Beyond Good & Evil 2

For the past several years, I've eagerly watched each Ubisoft E3 presser, holding out hope that Michel Ancel would take the stage to show off Beyond Good & Evil 2, a game the publisher teased years ago. Sadly, every year I've walked away disappointed, only to find out that Ancel has his hands full with more Rayman games. As a huge fan of Beyond Good & Evil and one with little to no interest in Rayman, it would please me more than anything to hear that Ubisoft has finally let Ancel step away from the limbless platformer to put all of his efforts into making a super awesome sequel to BG&E. Please Ubi, you've tortured me long enough.
