What Are You Playing? September 25, 2019

What are you playing this week? Team GR is currently enjoying Mario Kart Tour (despite everyone else seemingly having less than enthusiastic reactions to it), Code Vein, and our features editor Michael Leri is also struggling through The Surge 2.

Let us know what games you’ve been playing this week in the comments section!

Paul Tamburro, executive editor: Mario Kart Tour. The microtransactions are terrible, the subscription service is way overpriced… but I’m kind of hooked on it? I’m enjoying playing it in short bursts, and while I can’t imagine myself still enjoying it by the end of the week, I’m still getting more out of it than seemingly all of its other players.”

Jason Faulkner, senior editor: “I’m playing Code Vein right now. Been killing anime vampires for around 30 hours now and I have to say I’ve really enjoyed it.”

Michael Leri, features editor: “While Jason has had fun with his Souls-like, I have not. The Surge 2 is a rough game and was a struggle to get through. I actually went back to play the first game and Lords of the Fallen, which both seem significantly better than The Surge 2, which looks and plays like a budget PS3 game no one played. I don’t understand what happened there.”
