They’re everywhere!!
Don’t move! I think there’s something crawling on your back…
Alien Trilogy is a first person shooter that takes you right into the dark weird world of the Alien movies. The company has infected a group of colonists with the alien in order to smuggle them through quarantine and get them to their bio-weapons lab. Have things gone awry? Oh my yes! You get to play Ripley, who get to clean up the mess and single handedly wipe out a whole nest of aliens.
You begin with just a 9mm automatic, which is fine for killing the little face-huggers. Fortunately you can get a shotgun right near the beginning which is much better for killing the full grown aliens. Later on you can get a flame-thrower, the popular pulse rifle, and a smart gun. There are also infected colonists and soldiers that you must kill.
To make it through the levels you must power up doors, blow up barricades, and collect certain items. While the missions do vary slightly, the general theme is this: explore and kill. The levels have nice variation and you can go up and down stairs and ramps.
The sound great. The background music fits the dark spooky mood of the game perfectly. The sound effects are also excellent. From your own faintly echoing footsteps, to the chalkboard squeaks of the aliens. If you listen closely to the sound, you can tell what kind of alien that is lurking just behind the wall or around the corner.
