Logitech G435 Review: ‘Lightweight headset combined with Lightspeed tech’

LOGITECH G435 REVIEW.

The Logitech G435 is the company’s lightest gaming headset coming in at 165 grams. Despite this reduction in weight, it still boasts key features that gamers need. This includes Logitech’s Lightspeed wireless tech, a proven low-latency wire-free connection that gamers can depend upon. What’s more, the G435 gets wild with colors, offering some of the most vibrant themes that I’ve ever seen in an audio product. After a thorough testing period, it’s time for the GameRevolution Logitech G435 review.

Color me impressed

When I received the nondescript brown box containing the Logitech G435, I didn’t even consider that a headset could be hiding inside. Despite this, the headset is safely tucked away with the wireless dongle, USB-C cable, and instructions. A key highlight of the G435 is its use of sustainable materials, which extends to the product packaging. That’s always great to see.

While I received the “Off-White and Lilac” colorway, there are two other colors available: “Black and Neon Yellow” and “Blue and Raspberry.” Honestly, I love what Logitech is going for here. Though, I will say the “lilac” color on my unit is more like a pale blue. Regardless, I love how bold it is and would be thrilled to see more of this vibrancy across other Logitech products.

Yup, it’s light

Logitech G435 Review

Unsurprisingly, the first thing I noticed when setting the G435 upon my noggin was the weight, or lack of. It is ridiculously light when compared to my other daily-driver headsets. Because of this, comfort is all but guaranteed for most users. The headband might lack padding, but it’s not necessary here. The clamping force is just right, too. At this point it’s cliche to say, but the G435 really does “disappear” when in use, as I quickly forgot I was wearing it.

Setting up the G435 is easy thanks to the dual wireless modes. The 2.4 GHz dongle provides that fantastic Lightspeed experience, which is great for low-latency connections to PC and consoles. Bluetooth is also here for connecting to phones or other devices and the latency there is plenty good enough for movie watching and playing mobile titles like Call of Duty: Mobile.

Solid layout

Logitech G435 Review

Power, volume, and mic mute are all found on the left earcup. They are positioned well and shouldn’t take too long to get used to.

The microphone itself is also implemented into the left earcup. The quality is good enough for in-game chat, but it won’t be suitable for streaming or creating YouTube content. It gets the job done and the lack of a boom arm keeps the aesthetic clean and minimal.

As for the audio being pumped out of the speakers, it sounds impressively good. It’s odd how I assume the worst when it comes to incredibly lightweight headphones, but the Logitech G435 delivers satisfying lows and highs without resorting to boominess or harshness. It’s a great mix that gamers will be especially fond of, though music and movie audio are also rendered well.

Logitech G435 Review: The final verdict

Logitech G435 Review

The Logitech G435 is a lightweight headset combined with Lightspeed tech. At $79.99, I think the launch price is right for this product. While there is competition out there, they are mostly wired. The G435 is not just wireless, but also the best kind of wireless around, with Lightspeed working brilliantly in even the most competitive titles.

The only concern I have about the G435 is build quality over long-term use, as the extreme light weight  — both its key strength but also its potential weakness — does make me worry. For now, though, it’s still going strong.

For those in the market for a lightweight headset that sounds great, uses a dependable wireless solution for compromise-free gaming, and with a certain aesthetic flair, the Logitech G435 gets a hearty recommendation from me.
