NZXT Z63 RGB White Review: ‘White looks incredible on you’

NZXT Z63 RGB WHITE REVIEW.

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of NZXT cases, having used them for many personal builds and also as my go-to recommendation for friends and family. I love the clean and minimal style, especially with the white versions. Pair NZXT components together and you get yourself a very clean aesthetic. Up until this point, however, pairing a white case with a white NZXT CPU cooler wasn’t possible. NZXT is looking to change that with the white series of X-3 and Z-3 products.

Style

NZXT isn’t messing around here. While you might have expected the company to roll out a white version of just one cooler, perhaps with a focus on the popular 240 mm radiator, the company has instead implemented white versions of their entire lineup. From 240 mm up to 360 mm, the entire lineup of X (without screen) and Z (with screen) are now available in a very clean white color.

This means that NZXT has joined Asus and Corsair as big companies which are embracing a fully white aesthetic and it’s great to see. Hopefully, we’ll see all-white builds popping up on the NZXT BLD custom PC building service soon, as I think they would be popular.

While “gamer” used to inspire images of dark, black setups with the odd RGB element, much of the community is now veering more towards clean and minimal. White builds are growing in popularity and, as more big companies like NZXT work to provide great-looking white parts, I’m sure we’ll see that trend continue.

Performance

Unsurprisingly, performance between the NZXT Z63 in black and white is within error of margin. They are essentially the same. The white cooler is neither better nor worse than the black version, which will be a shock to no one.

At idle with the fans set to an inaudible level, my Ryzen 7 3700X was kept very cool at 29C. Gaming with fans allowed to stretch their legs a little put it at 51C. Under the heaviest loads with stress testing, I saw temps hit 62C.

In my office during the still-hot summer months, this performance is expected and I’m very happy with it. Needless to say, black or white gets the job done, with no perceivable difference between the two colors.

NZXT Z63 RGB White Review: The final verdict

NZXT Z63 RGB White Review

Prices for CPU coolers have been creeping up over the past year, with the current climate significantly impacting production and shipping costs. NZXT has also suffered because of this. However, the pricing isn’t as bad as I was expecting.

Those looking for white parts are usually expecting to pay a small price premium for the niche color. That’s the case here, but the color/climate combo doesn’t make for too significant a price hike.

  • Kraken Z63 RGB 280 mm AIO: $279.99
  • Kraken Z73 RGB 360 mm AIO: $309.99

For those who can spring for white, it looks incredible in and out of an NZXT case. It’s the perfect pairing for a white version of the H510 Flow that, at the time of writing, NZXT has just revealed.
