Lemokey P1 Pro Keyboard Review

The Lemokey P1 Pro looks great on paper, checking the boxes when it comes to must-have features for a keyboard in 2024, all while keeping the price low. Additionally, for those who are willing to forgo wireless connectivity, the value proposition is even more impressive. After testing the P1 Pro for both office work and PC gaming, here is my review.

Good to go

Right out of the box, it’s clear that the Lemokey P1 Pro aims to please. Weightiness is often considered a positive attribute in the world of keyboards, and the P1 Pro delivers on this with a hefty feel. This is largely due to the aluminum frame, but there’s a whole sandwich of materials combining together to improve the typing feel and sound. The gasket mount design provides a more cushioned typing experience, which, while subtle, is sought after these days.

Buyers can choose between Keychron’s Super Red, Super Brown, or Super Banana switches.” Those familiar with the tactile “Panda” style will be interested in the Banana switches, while those who want to go fully linear can choose Red. The happy medium would be the Browns. Of course, users can swap in their own switches thanks to the hot-swappable format. The stabilizers are screw-in, too, which is another win.

Looks premium

I’m a big fan of how the P1 Pro looks. The three color options are Carbon Black, Navy Blue, and Space Silver. Those buying the fully assembled version, which I would recommend given the value, will receive keycaps that match the keyboard case. For example, my Carbon Black variant matches the black case with black and grey keycaps. The two accent keycaps add a little bit of pop, which works well. The keycaps are double-shot PBT and use the Cherry profile, which is standard.

Other big wins include the Pro version’s wireless functionality, with both Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz. The former offers a solid wireless connection that sips at the battery, while 2.4 GHz is for lower latency while gaming. Then there’s the RGB lighting, which can be customized or disabled altogether for those who prefer subtlety.

If I had to nitpick

I have hardly any complaints about the Lemokey P1 Pro. It’s a brilliant piece of kit and I’m stunned at how the prices can be kept so low. If I had to pick a fault, I’d say that the excessive weight could be a burden for portable setups, as it is considerably weighty, but that feels like a cheap shot given how on-trend hefty keyboards are. I could also point out a few keys that could use a little more love when it comes to tuning with lube, but I feel like you can only be so perfect when it comes to producing these products en masse.
